Amazon’s MMO New World, which has been expected for months (actually years), opened its servers yesterday. But there are some things you should pay attention to when playing New World, one of which is character names that you can’t get. As the game’s production company, Amazon does not allow you to use the name or derivatives of Jeff Bezos, the boss of either his own firm or the company and the richest person in the world – still. New World gives two different caveats when it comes to naming names.
If someone else has received the name you want to put, they will receive the warning “This name is already in use”, while for names that the company does not allow, “This name cannot be used”. Abusive names are already banned, but names containing “Bezos” or “Amazon” are in the category of “unavailable” names. The name “Beff Jezos” has already been taken. The names “JeffB”, “Bez0S” and “Be Zos” are among the “banned” names.
