Producer Naoki Yoshida has announced that the next trailer for the action role-playing adventure game Final Fantasy XVI will be released in October. Final Fantasy XVI won the Future Division award at the Japan Game Awards 2022 as part of the Tokyo Game Show 2022. The award was accepted by Yoshida on behalf of Square Enix.
Final Fantasy XVI isn’t Square Enix’s only Final Fantasy project right now. The company has recently been working on both Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as part of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, a remake of the beloved PSP game featuring Zack Fair.
On the other hand, Yoshida also acknowledged that not every Final Fantasy fan will be able to play the action games well. For this reason, he stated that the game will have two modes: Action-oriented mode and Story-oriented mode. Besides that, Yoshida said that players who are not good on the action side will also enjoy the story-oriented mode.
Final Fantasy XVI will debut for PlayStation 5 in the summer of 2023.
