Publisher EA announced that several older Need for Speed games will be removed from digital stores and their in-game economies will be shut down from May 31. Online services for these games will cease operations in August.
Carbon, Shift, Shift 2: Unleashed, The Run and Undercover are among the Needs for Speed games set to be removed. All five games will no longer be available for purchase in digital stores. Online services, such as leaderboards, will remain active until August 31st.
Community manager Max Myrus said: “The decision to cancel the Games has never been easy. But now we are shifting gears to focus on the future of Need for Speed.”
