NetEase Games has announced the establishment of a new studio with Austin/Texas-based Jackalope Games. The Jackalope studio is the first NetEase team headquartered in the United States. As the first-party studio of NetEase Games, it will develop new and exciting PC and console games.
Jackalope Games is directed by Jack Emmert, whose previous work includes City of Heroes, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online.
Emmert said in a press release: “NetEase Games is the best possible place for me and my team to thrive. We share the same passion to create engaging online universes for gamers around the world. NetEase Games provides the support and resources needed to create a great studio and great games.”
Jackalope Games is a first-party NetEase Games studio, but will continue to operate independently. The game will retain autonomy in development and broadcasting. His first project will be fully funded by NetEase Games.
