Take-Two Interactive Software, 2K and Netflix have announced a film adaptation of the BioShock series. The production, whose release date has not yet been set, has also not been announced.
Netflix shared BioShock’s cover image in a Twitter post. No further details have been released.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, said in a statement: “Netflix is among the best and most forward-thinking storytellers in today’s entertainment world.”
At one point, however, Universal had the right to make a BioShock film, in which it was assigned to pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski. However, the project was ultimately cancelled.
