Netflix has announced that it will buy Next Games. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022. Netflix has announced a €65m deal.
Founded in 2013 and directed by Teemu Huuhtanen, Next Games has released mobile games such as Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, The Walking Dead: Our World and The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land. At the end of 2021, Next Games has about 120 employees.
Michael Verdu, Netflix’s vice president of gaming, said in a press release: “Next Games has an experienced management team and a strong standing in the mobile gaming industry. We are excited to have the team join Netflix as the core studio. Even though we’ve just entered the gaming industry, with Next Games, we’ll be offerings for our users around the world. With Next Games, I’m confident that we can build a portfolio of world-class games that will delight players.”
