Netflix began testing games in some countries in late August and September. With last night’s announcement, the name of the new game service has been confirmed. Netflix Games!

Netflix’s Vice President of Game Development Mike Verdu explains:

We love all games, from physical games (Floor Is Lava) to mind games (The Circle: USA) and even Squid Games😉 Perhaps we like to add fun to the lives of our members the most. That’s why we’re so excited to take our first step towards bringing Netflix games to the world. Starting today, our members around the world will be able to play these five mobile games: Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP), Stranger Things 3: The Game (BonusXP), Shooting Hoops (Frosty Pop), Card Blast (Amuzo &rogue Games), and Teeter Up (Frosty Pop). Whether it’s a cookie game where they can turn around and play from the beginning, or in search of an immersive experience deep into their favorite story, we want to create a game archive that will appeal to all our members. We are very excited to include you in our journey to create a great gaming experience that we are still in charge of.

Level 1: Access to All Games Under Your Netflix Membership

All you need to play our games is a Netflix membership. No ads, extra fees, or in-app purchases. (If Demogorgon says otherwise, don’t believe him).

Level 2: On Android Devices Anywhere in the World

You can find our mobile games on Android devices right now. When you sign in to a Netflix account and log in to the profile:

Members using Android mobile phones will see a separate game line and tab where they can choose the games they will download.

Members using Android tablets will see a separate game line or choose the games they will download and play from the Categories menu.

Level 3: Open to Players From Around the World

We will offer our mobile games in many languages we serve. The default language of your games will automatically match the preference you specify on your Netflix profile. If your preferred language is not yet available, the default language of the games will be English.

Level 4: Yes, All Profiles in Your Account Will Be Able to Play Games

Members will be able to play games from multiple mobile devices with the same account. If you exceed the device limit, we will notify you so that if necessary, you will be able to sign out of unused devices or remotely disable them via the Netflix.com address in order to play on a new device.

Level 5: Adults Only

We know how important child safety is to parents, carers and parents. Therefore, these games will not be available in children’s profiles. If you’ve set a PIN code to prevent children from accessing adult profiles, you’ll need the same PIN code to sign in to Netflix and play games on a device.

Level 6: No Internet? It’s No Problem!

You can play our games offline! Only some of them may require an internet connection. So you won’t be bored on long journeys and in areas with poor WiFi connectivity!

Level 7: We Appeal to All Kinds of Players

Just like our series, movies and stand-up shows, we want to design games that appeal to all levels and all kinds of actors. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, games you can enjoy are waiting for you!
