Resident Evil’s fearful atmosphere is like a flower garden compared to the brand’s cinematic adaptations. Make no mistake, the games are really great, but all the movies made so far are so bad that the announcement of a new adaptation for fans is more scary than any game. The brand’s latest adaptation , Welcome to Raccoon City , was precisely one of those disasters. Now there’s a Netflix series on the horizon, and the fact that the producers are the same raises the level of creepy. It’s worth lowering expectations for the series, which airs July 14 .
The series, produced by Constantin Film, was announced along with three posters. The series, announced last year, stars Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Lence Reddick. Reddick’s portraye of Albert Wesker, one of the franchise’s most beloved characters, brought controversy. But after the Raccoon City disaster, this show may have far more serious issues to discuss.
