Activision president Daniel Alegre commented on the new Call of Duty game in a report announcing the company’s first-quarter financial results.
“Sledgehammer Games is leading the development of the game. The game looks great and is set to debut this fall.”
“The game is about the game, The story was built for the next generation of experience, with stunning visuals in multiplayer and co-op modes. It is designed to integrate and improve the existing Call of Duty ecosystem.”

Although it has not yet been officially announced by Activision and Sledgehammer Games, according to sources in Eurogamer and the Video Games Chronicle, the game will be set in World War II and is likely to be called Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard.
