Activision-Blizzard’s financial forecasts predict a big rise in 2023. The reason for this rise may not be in 2024 as expected, but in the new Call of Duty game coming next year. However, Activision has announced that it will not release a new much-loved war game in 2023. They even stated that they now want to launch new Call of Duty games in two-year periods. This also breaks the tradition of Call of Duty, which has been in place for 19 years, to release a new game every year.
Can the new Call of Duty game come sooner than we expected?
Activision-Blizzard expects to generate revenue almost 18% higher in 2023 than in 2022, according to financial forecasts. That would be the U.S.-based company’s all-time high revenue of $4.688 billion. Normally, Call of Duty may be the only series that can boost Activision’s revenues that much. In addition to the possibility that these estimates were made before the company set the roadmap, activision’s earnings do not have to be a new Call of Duty.
In 2023, Activison is expected to have five games on the market. According to leaks and reports, these games are: Warzone (2020), Warzone 2 (2022), Warzone Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile and a new Call of Duty zombie game. Therefore, the games that are expected to fill the company’s coffers already exist. Productions expected to be released this year are Modern Warfare II, with the exception of Warzone’s new console adaptation.
In addition, the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft may have increased the company’s goals and increased the target sales figures of existing games, targeting higher revenue.
