The Raid and Gareth Evens opened the door to a whole new world of action in 2012. The pair, who rose to fame with The Raid 2, are now the ancestors of many of the popular action films. Deadline claims the series will return as a “remake.”
What’s interesting is that Michael Bay will be producing the new film. Patrick Hughes, best known for The Hitman;s Bodyguard, will take the director’s chair. So gareth evans, the creator of the original film, will have no interaction with the film.
If you recall, the Raid series told the story of an Indonesian SWAT team. In the new film, of course, we’re going on a journey to America. This time, the team will try to take out an organized drug lord in Philadelphia.
