Finally, the moment we’ve been waiting for for so long, and we watched the gameplay trailer for Elden Ring with goosebumps. If you recall, parts of this trailer had already leaked in potato quality– so we knew more or less what to expect, but I’d say the final version of the trailer exceeded my expectations.
Elden Ring’s enemy and boss designs were, as you might expect from FromSoftware, outstanding. For example, what kind of design is a giant rock turtle with a bell underneath and a structure on it? Didn’t you get an Artorias vibe when the red-haired sister we saw in the first commercials put us on the sword? It was an extremely exciting trailer with different details that stood out in each scene.
Following this trailer, the game’s official website was also launched, giving us new information about the game.
It starts with “tainted,” for example. Our character has a beautiful name just in a way that suits a FromSoftware game. Tarnished, I mean, stained.
The land where the game takes place is called Lands Between, so we can roughly translate it as The Land In Between. This land is ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, and her sons, the demigods, claimed the fractures of the dismembered Elden Ring; and led to the start of a war called Shattering.
From here, we can probably predict that the latest boss of the game will be Queen Marika. In Dark Souls 2, our last boss was a woman, we fought Nashandra, born from the smallest part of Manus. Throughout the game, it looks like Marika will defeat her sons, who have a piece of Elden Ring in hand, and reunite the ring and become Lord by Hand. But I’m guessing at the end of the game, we’ll still be given the option of wearing the ring and climbing the throne or destroying it.
From the game’s introductory phrases, we learn that we can play Elden Ring alone or with other players. For now, it will be possible to play together up to 4 players. At one point in the trailer, our character was accompanied by two Blue Phantoms. Therefore, it is possible to say that there will be co-op support in the game similar to previous FS games. Of course, phantoms of different colors and plenty of PvP will also be involved. But in the open world of the game, how this co-op job will work is a question mark. As a result, we saw that we could jump on our horse and run to different places in the game world at great speed. If this is not a misdirection, we can also say that Elden Ring will be linear to a certain extent in order to give co-op play an opportunity.
Elden Ring’s gaming world will feature grassy plains, stifling swamps, mountains, evil castles and venues of a size we haven’t seen in previous FromSoftware games. The “suffocating swamp” part here is important because the swamp scenes that annoy the player in an FS game are a must:)
One of the most important details in the trailer was that we saw that we could use our horse not only to travel, but also to fight.. When we collide with that giant dragon, our hero doesn’t get off our horse, so it’s a question of what mechanics we’re going to come across besides running around attacking the boss from afar, like whether we’re going to be able to climb on top of it.
As for my predictions about the price of the game. The game will be released by Bandai Namco and will be available for PC on Steam.
When we look at bandai namco’s pricing, we see that it sells even its most expensive games for $60; Dark Souls 3 was also released by Bandai Namco and sold for 179 lira. Bandai Namco’s newest game, the Scarlet Nexus, will also debut at 249 lira (regular sale price $60) at the end of this month. This means that if bandai namco’s local pricing policy on Steam is not changed by January, we can also buy Elden Ring for 250 liras, which is a really good price.
Elden Ring will be released on January 21, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series ;d January 21, 2022.
