The new Sea of Thieves season will come out a little later than originally announced. The game’s producer, Rare’s studio, announced that the seventh season of the game will arrive on August 4, not July 21. The biggest innovation of Sea of Thieves Season 7 will be the “Captaincy” feature, which as the name suggests, players will be able to become ship captains. They will also be able to name their ships.
The new Sea of Thieves season will be released in August
In a blog post, Rare said the reason for the delay was to “throw away the final touches”:
“As we approached the first announced release date, we realized that the calendar was shrinking and that we were not able to produce a job of the quality we expected, putting a meaningless burden on the developing team. We know that everyone who is looking forward to the new season is disappointed and we thank you for your patience.”
The current season of Sea of Thieves came on March 6, 2022. In August, along with season 7, a new adventure called “A Hunter’s Cry” will meet the players on August 18. In his statement, Rare also stated that “working on Sea of Thieves allows them to learn something new every day” and that they are confident that the decision to postpone is “the right decision” for the health of the game.
