One of the games announced at The Game Awards 2021 was the new Star Trek game Star Trek: Resurgence:
When you started watching the trailer, you might have thought, like me, “Is this a Telltale game?” In fact, you’re not so wrong; Star Trek: Resurgence is being developed by Dramatic Labs, founded by former Telltale Games employees.
The game, which will tell a story from 2380, immediately following the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, uses the formula of ‘interactive narrated video game’, as we see in the trailer. In the game, we will direct two main characters, Jara Rydek and Carter Diaz. Again, as we are used to telltale games, we will choose one of the options that come up and move towards different endings. But it is also noted that there are different gameplay mechanics on the game’s website.
Developed for PC, PS4, PS5 Xbox Series X/S, Star Trek: Resurgence will meet gamers next spring.
