In the final seconds of last night’s Nintendo Direct, a surprise awaited us. Nintendo, which came up with the Splatoon 3 trailer, revealed new maps, enemy types and mechanics.
The theme of the story mode is “return of the Mammalians”. Players who have long tried to solve the “mystery story” behind Splatoon seem to get their hands on the clues they want with Splatoon 3. However, we also get a chance to see the Squid Sisters, albeit briefly, in the trailer.
Splatoon 3 will debut on the Nintendo Switch in 2022. Nintendo, which does not share any clear information other than that, is aware of how important the series is to itself. Splatoon 2 sold 12 million units, making it one of the platform’s best-selling games.
