The new update for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita removed the PSN account management setting and account creation feature. After this update, users need to use a third-party platform, such as a smartphone, to log in or recover their existing password.
Users who want to create an account after the new patch will now have to do so via a smartphone or computer.
Sony aims to gradually end its support on older devices. Last year, the firm announced plans to close ps3 and PS Vita’s digital stores. This announcement was met with a backlash and was later reversed.
Also last year, Sony removed the ability to purchase games using credit or debit cards on both systems. After this feature is removed, players can now purchase games via a computer, PS4, or PS5.
