New World’s release day was pretty painful, most players didn’t even see the game. In fact, we are accustomed to such queues and glitches from other DVO;s, even diablo 2 resurrected has again caused connectivity problems on its output. Usually, such problems are solved after the first day, but when the interest in New World was so intense, even the second day of the game was spent with queues.
New World’s queues are again measured in the thousands during peak hours, which means you have to wait in line for hours to get into the game. To avoid this, Amazon has also launched a free switch to new servers, even servers with no queues, but most players want to continue on the server where they started the game. One of the reasons for this is people’s desire to play with their friends.
The popularity of some servers is due to publishers. Shroud’s chosen Celadon presenter, for example, was lining up players even in the middle of the day. The servers chosen by the famous guilds we know from other DVO’s are also filled by fans of the guilds.
Amazon will try to avoid density by both adding new servers and increasing the limit of 2,000 players on servers. They haven’t been told what the new limit will be, but they say the tests have begun.
It looks like Amazon has done a big job with its first game, New World, except for the technical glitch, so let’s see what the future shows.
