Last week, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan and Xbox boss Phil Spencer sent messages to employees condemning Activision’s stance on incidents, particularly bobby kotick. Ryan said Activision had not done enough to curb a culture of discrimination and harassment, while Spencer said “this kind of behavior has no place in our industry” and said microsoft was reviewing its relationship with Activision Blizzard.
Nintendo was the only one left of the three giants, and Nintendo of America boss Doug Bowser also expressed his disappointment with the latest scandal at Activision Blizzard in an in-house email to employees.
“Like you, I follow the latest developments in Activision Blizzard and reports of sexual harassment and toxicity within the company. I find all of this disturbing and upsetting. They are completely contrary to both my values and nintendo’s values, values and policies.”
Following these messages from the three majors, the Activision Blizzard board’s standing behind Bobby Kotick will likely create more difficult situations for the company. Kotick finally said, “If I don’t solve all the problems as soon as possible, I’ll leave.”
