Nintendo quietly pulled the plug on Netflix apps on the Wii you and 3DS earlier this month. In fact, this is a strange development, because until now, players who had these consoles could watch Netflix without any hassle. It’s unclear how such a decision was made.
But it also means nintendo has completely ended its support for Netflix because switch doesn’t have a Netflix app. So it will no longer be possible to watch Netflix on any Nintendo console.
Nintendo removed Netflix from its 3DS and Wii U digital stores last month, but those who had already set up the app could continue to use it, and now that support has been discontired.
At a time when streaming services are more popular than ever, it’s interesting that Nintendo doesn’t care about that, cutting off support for one of the most established platforms, let alone support new platforms. Of course, most people have different solutions at their disposal to watch netflix or other streaming services’ shows, but if you still want to take my 3DS with me on the way, I’ll watch a tv show on the road, know that’s not possible anymore:)
