Sony announced earlier this month that it was acquiring Nixxes Softwarein a surprise announcement . Sony had previously incorporated studios that developed games for itself, but the acquisition of a studio like Nixxes Software, whose specialty was to port games from different platforms to PC, caused some thoughts to appear in the minds.
Nixxes is a hugely successful studio, porting many games such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to PC.
Jim Ryan’s interview with Famitsu also made clear why Nixxes was bought: “We are still in the very early stages of our efforts to bring our games to PC; but we are extremely pleased with the situation and look forward to working with Nixxes to help us with this,” Ryan said.
Sony has had two games ported to pc so far, Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone. It is thought that the next game to be announced will be Uncharted 4, but there are so many PS4 games on PC that it will be nice to announce whichever one they announce.
