Copenhagen-based Nordisk Games has announced the acquisition of Supermassive Games, developer of The Dark Pictures Anthology and The Quarry. Nordisk Games previously acquired a 30.7 percent stake in the company in March 2021. Now it will own the entire company.
Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive Games, said in a press release: “It’s been more than a year since we started working closely with the team at Nordisk Games. With the experience and expertise they brought, we stepped into a bigger business. We are delighted to be part of the Nordisk family. I can speak for everyone here at the Supermassive studio. I’m excited about where this partnership will take us.”
Nordisk Games is owned by Nordisk Film, part of the leading Nordic media group Egmont. In addition to Avalanche Studios Group, he also owns majority and minority stakes in Star Stable Entertainment, Flashbulb Games, Nitro Games and MercurySteam.
