Developer SCS Software has announced that official multiplayer support for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator is on the way.
Multiplayer will bring Convoy mode to the game. In this mode, eight players will drive together in the same world. AI traffic, time and weather conditions will be synchronized and all eight players will be able to do the same job.
Convoy mode is currently available in open beta. There are some limitations in terms of content and features, such as the lack of community-building mode support in the beta. It’s not clear when it will be released from beta. Details of the beta and instructions for joining can be found here.
