Announced in 2018, Microsoft’s XBox Adaptive Controller paved the way for disabled gamers to play as well. Although there was no action from the Sony front in the process, fans of the console saw their own work. Thanks to the additional apparatus made with a 3D printing machine, a single-handed user can easily control the games.
One-handed PS5 controller
Built for a competition by PrusaPrinters, this apparatus to provide a gaming experience for people with disabilities was designed by YouTuber Akaki Kuumeri. The Ps5 controller’s trigger keys are carried to the right by an adapter, and Kuumeri can press L2 and R2 at the same time. That way, when he shoots, he gets a chance to aim.
Kuumeri, whose main goal is to play It Takes Two alone, performs the game by being able to use both controllers alone thanks to the apparatus it produces.
He added that this apparatus could also provide a nice alternative for left-handed players, and posted a video on his channel about how to do them and how the system works. Below you can watch this video of the broadcaster.
