Many details will come for Overwatch 2 before the end of May
In his first Overwatch developer update video since taking over from Jeff Kaplan, new director Aaron Keller said Blizzard will showcase PvP mode of Overwatch 2 during a live stream on May 20. Keller, Geoff Goodman, artistic director Dion Rogers and other members of the development team will be present. They will discuss the “philosophy” that drives some changes made when displaying Overwatch 2 maps.
Keller said, “I have to say that everything we show to set expectations is in development and it’s still an ongoing study.” “We will talk more about Overwatch 2 PvP during the year, so expect more”.
Keller also announced that developers will be taking partin an AMA (Ask me anything) on Reddit to discuss the last five years of Overwatch . We hope this is not just a “history lesson” where retrospectives are discussed. Keller said Blizzard is committed to sharing more information about the development of the new game.
Of course, while the PvE direction is the sharp bend that will separate the game from the first game, it will also be nice to know what PvP will look like in the new game and what we will face on the competitive side. We don’t think a release date will be announced because “those parts” of the development process have not yet been reached during the live broadcast. Blizzard said the game was not expected to be released until 2022 at the earliest. You can also express your opinions in the comments.
