Blizzard Entertainment shared new details about Overwatch 2’s PvP in a live broadcast today, the most notable of which was the change in team size.
In Overwatch 2, the team size is reduced from 6 to 5, and PvP matches will be played as 5v5.
The teams will consist of two attacks, two support and one tank-class character.
In addition, the characters of the tank and support classes are strengthened a little more. All tank characters will now receive less damage, so they can protect their team for longer. Support characters will also get passive healing effects, which will help keep your team alive more easily.
According to director Aaron Keller, these changes are made to make it easier for players to work with and support teammates, giving them a smoother gameplay.
Overwatch 2 is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. A release date is yet to be set.
