New details have been announced for Overwatch 2, the first-person shooter game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. According to the team, in order to play Overwatch 2, a phone number will need to be added to battle.net accounts on all platforms. In short, this will require phone verification.
Blizzard states that this two-step verification will give the game a better security system. Apart from that, new players will need to win 50 quick game matches to unlock the competitive mode. It will also take you to complete nearly 100 matches to unlock all the characters in Overwatch.
Finally, the game will feature a ping system similar to that of APEX Legends. This ping system will allow players to communicate with their team without having to use voice chat.
Overwatch 2 will debut on October 4 in Early Access and free for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
