Technology has provided $10 million in cash to domestic gaming startup Pantheon for its new mobile 4X strategy game. With this large amount of funds from Teknasyon’s co-founders Mustafa Varalı, Burak Health and Mustafa Joy, the Pantheon team will be expanded further and work on the 4X strategy game will continue rapidly.
The Pantheon is a standout with successful hyper casual games that reach millions of players worldwide, including Home Restoration, which has been downloaded more than 50 million times. Pantheon co-founder Ufuk Sahin is an experienced figure who has worked in strategy games such as Savasim, ODS and The Last War, turkey’s first browser-based strategy game.
Mobile 4X strategy games account for about a third of the Mid Core gaming market, according to last year’s data, and are gaining increasing popularity. In general, thanks to hyper casual games, the audience meets the gaming world and as they get older, they start to turn to the 4X strategy type. Successful names of this genre include games such as Rise of Kingdoms and State of Survival.
Ufuk Şahin said of the new game they will develop and the fund they provide: “We are very excited about the new game that we will develop in the 4X strategy type. The story of the game will be supported by mythological elements and set in the Middle Ages. Our game will initially feature 3 kingdoms and more than 20 heroes, and new kingdoms and heroes will be added over time. The 42-member experienced team of our game, which we aim to complete its first version in 2 years, will also include Lead Game Designer, one of the 10 most successful 4X strategy games in the world. However, we will produce some artistic content of the game within the framework of collaborations with studios abroad. While the game is in the testing phase; In addition to the $10 million in funding we received from Technology, we will raise an additional $20 million for the marketing of the game and increase the total project budget to $30 million. We have 6 months of preparation time to start the project. In this process, we will also need talented and experienced new teammates who want their names to take part in such a project.”
