Path of Exile’s latest expansion, Siege of the Atlas, was released this weekend and has received a lot of attention from players. In the expansion pack, which both adds new Eldritch bosses to the game and makes the Atlas end of game more accessible, some players have now managed to download bosses such as The Maven, The Searing Exarch and The Eater of Worlds in the Hardcore Solo league.
However, the most remarkable part of all this news was that the game also broke its own record of simultaneous players. Grinding Gear Games announced over the weekend that the number of players playing the game simultaneously had reached 270,260. It’s no coincidence that Path of Exile, which has been running since 2013, has reached the best player count of all time, and it’s a big part of the developer’s understanding of the players’ wishes.
Path of Exile is a completely free game to play and one of the most successful of the most “Diablo type” games.
