SteamSpy reaches these statistics by identifying the players who own the game, but it can only do so through public profiles. In fact, even this is a sign that the game’s sales are well over 1 million, and God of War is a game that is sold not only on Steam but also in the Epic Games Store. I wish Sony would make a statement in the coming days so we could know clearly how much the game is selling.
God of War sold more than 5 million copies on PS4 in the first month and reached 19.5 million copies by August 2021. The game’s current goal is to reach a total of 25 million, but it is certain that these numbers will be reached quickly with the discount periods.
