Outriders developer People Can Fly announced the acquisition of Phosphor Studios and changing the studio’s name to People Can Fly Chicago.
Phosphor Studios is a medium-sized development team founded in 2009 and managed by Justin Corcoran, Jarod Pranno and Chip Sineni. Their releases include The Brookhaven Experiment, Heroes Reborn: Gemini and Nether.
With this acquisition, People Can Fly now has more than 320 employees in seven locations around the world. People Can Fly Chicago was their third location in North America.
Justin Corcoran, CEO of Phosphor Studios (People Can Fly Chicago), said, “A new chapter is opening up for our team. We are thrilled to be joining People Can Fly to open the brand new AAA studio People Can Fly Chicago. Our goal is to strengthen People Can Fly’s presence in the United States and to help People Can Fly become a global brand,” he said.
People Can Fly is currently working on two new AAA projects: one a new game for Square Enix and the other a new action adventure game for Take-Two Interactive.
