In an interview with the New York Times, Xbox boss Phil Spencer touched on a wide range of topics, including the recently raised Metaverse and malicious players on gaming platforms. Spencer also gave interesting advice for players who are on a player’s ban list. Spencer recommendsthat players be punished on other gaming platforms as soon as they are banned from Microsoft platforms.
Phil Spencer’s advice on players’ ban list could spark controversy
The boss of Xbox stated that someone who is on a player’s ban list on their platform can follow that player on other platforms:
“One thing we can do about it is to move the penalty of the player banned on our platform to other platforms, even though it is difficult to realize as an industry.”
Spencer clarified his misunderstood remarks:
” What I would like as a player would be to be able to move my list of “banned players” to all the games I play. When I blocked one player, I wouldn’t have a chance to meet him in another game. These players are just people I don’t want to play with. So I didn’t have to create a list of players that were blocked individually in every game I played.”
Time will tell if Spencer’s advice will be taken into account.
