Sony announced in its annual final financial report, which ended June 31, 2022, that 21.7 million units of the PlayStation 5 were sold worldwide.

A total of 2.4 million PlayStation 5 consoles were sold in the three months ended 31 June 2022. PlayStation 5 sales increased by 0.1 million compared to the same period of the previous financial year (2.3 million).

As of 31 June 2022, there are 47.3 million PlayStation Plus subscribers. This figure represents an increase of one million from 46.3 million subscribers in the same period of the previous financial year.

PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 console game sales (software) sold 47.1 million units in the first quarter of fiscal year 2022. This represents a decrease of 16.5 million from 63.6 million votes sold in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

First-party games, on the other hand, experienced a decrease of 4.1 million from the 10.5 million units sold in the same period of the previous fiscal year. During this period, 6.4 million first-party games were sold.
