Sony has announced over 10 million sales worldwide since the release of the PlayStation 5 on November 12, 2020. The PlayStation 4 took nine months to reach 10 million sales, while the PlayStation 5 reduced it to 8 months.
Along with these sales figures, the PlayStation 5 remains Sony’s fastest-selling console. Imagine where those sales figures would have come if there wasn’t a console shortage in the market.
Sony also released sales figures for some of its first-party games.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales led the way with 6.5 million copies, while MLB: The Show sold two million copies and Ratchet &clank sold just over a million copies. Returnal’s sales are now around 560,000.
