Sony has announced a special PlayStation 4 tournament known as the Evo Community Series, which runs throughout June, July and August.
Sony attracted the attention of the fighting game community earlier this year by announcing its acquisition of the EVO Championship Series tournament. This year’s events will be a foundation for the fighting game community.
The Evo Community Series will be a new opportunity for all fight game fans to participate through open format competitions throughout the summer.
The event, which begins next week, June 10, will include more than 120 tournaments, over 100 hours of broadcasting and $74,000 in prize money worldwide. Interested PlayStation 4 players can register from the PlayStation Competition Center or from the Events tab on the PS4 console.
Sony has announced three separate tournaments for PS4 players. The first tournament, known as PlayStation Tournaments FGC Arcade: Evo Edition, will start from June 10th to 22nd. Granblue Fantasy: Versus will include Guilty Gear Strive, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and Tekken 7.
The second tournament, known as Evo, will come in July with a prize pool of $19,000.
The final summer tournament starts on July 8th and runs until August 3rd. The PlayStation Tournaments Evo 2021 Online Side Tournament will have a large prize pool of $35,000.
