Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan said in his latest PS podcast that PlayStation’s first-party studios continue to grow naturally and through acquisitions.
Ryan added: “We’re in a really good position with PlayStation Studios. It’s been like this for the last few years. The critical and commercial successes of our games have opened the door to great investments.
We grow our studios naturally. In addition, we continue to expand through acquisition. We have purchased five studios throughout 2021. That’s proof that we’re successful.
We will continue to grow and buy. We know our community is happy about it. “
Sony Interactive Entertainment acquired Destiny developer Bungie and Haven Entertainment Studio for $3.6 billion in 2022.
