Released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, the 3D platformer Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy was one of Naughty Dog’s most beautiful games and the starting game of the Jak and Daxter series. It’s not normally possible for this classic to come to PC, but thanks to indie developers, we now have the chance to play Jak and Daxter natively on PC!
Jak and Daxter’s unofficial port uses OpenGL, with the development team saying that all episodes are fully playable and the game is 100% complete. For this, 400,000 lines of GOAL code have been decompiled, so there is a lot of work. The only thing they lack right now is that they don’t have a voice.
The team plans to port Jak II and Jak 3 as well.
You can download Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy here. Of course, this port does not contain the visual elements of the game, just like in the case of Super Mario 64, it is necessary to take them from the original copy of the game.
