Sony Interactive Entertainment has started offering beta version 2.0-04.00.00 for PlayStation 5 in the PlayStation 5 system software beta program.
The update brings a number of changes to expand your console’s storage, including long-awaited M.2 SSD support.
Highlights of the update:
– You can now plug an M.2 SSD into your PS5 and use M.2 SSD storage.
– You can use PCle 4.0 M.2 SSDs with a minimum capacity of 250 GB and a maximum capacity of 4 TB.
– To securely install or remove your M.2 SSD, make sure your PS5 is turned off and the AC power cord is not plugged in.
– To use M.2 SSD storage, plug your M2 SSD into your PS5 when your PS5 is turned off. When you turn on your PS5, you can format your M.2 SSD to be ready for use.
– To move a PS5 or PS4 game installed in console storage or extended USB storage to M2 SSD storage, go to your game library, press the options button, and select [Move Games and Apps]. Then select the game you want to move and click the [Move] button.
– Now you can enjoy 3D audio through your TV speakers.
– Various updates have been made to the home screen of your games.
– Various updates have been made to the Library, Game Base, Friends tab, Mugs, PlayStation Now, Notification and more.
