Sony announced the necessity of the PlayStation Network (PSN) account for the PC version of Naughty Dog The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. This requirement is officially indicated on the Steam page of the game. However, PSN is active only in 73 countries, many players can prevent access to this game. There are no PSN support in regions such as a large part of Baltic countries and Africa, which creates an important drawback for play lovers.
PSN Requirements and Response of Players
Home PSN account necessity, especially in the focus of criticisms in single-player games. Previously God of War Ragnarök was applied the same condition in games, and this led to negative user reviews on Steam. Players have to create fake accounts to access the game in non-PSN account countries. But Sony’s likely to ban these accounts is making concern among players.
Home Sony states that this obligation is necessary to increase player safety and maintain community values. The company argues that PSN connection facilitates player behaviors and block malicious movements. It also emphasizes that this system is critical to objecting to the accounts of banned players. However, these descriptions remain insufficient to change the negative perception between players.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will be published on Steam in 2024. However, in the output due to PSN requirement, it is expected to encounter criticisms as in previous Sony games. Players continue to call Sony to review this policy.
