The PUBG 12.2 update has been added to test servers and will be available to all players on July 7. With the news of this update, a short film calledGround Zero,starring don lee, a famous actor who appeared in such films as Train to Busan and The Eternals, was also released. The company’s statements and contents regarding patch 12.2 are as follows;

Krafton today announced PUBG Update 12.2, which comes with taego, the new 8×8 map in 1980s South Korea. Update 12.2 also introduces Survivor Pass: TAEGO, based on the main themes on the new map. Update 12.2 will be released on PC on July 7 and consoles on July 15. Players who want to review Update 12.2 in advance can log in to the PC test server today.
“PUBG Studios has introduced unique maps of various sizes, and we are pleased to finally introduce TAEGO, a Korean-themed map,” said Taehyun Kim, head of PUBG World Development.
Krafton’s first live-action short film, “Ground Zero”, set in Hosan prison in TAEGO, is now available. “Ground Zero” starring Don Lee (“Marvel Studios’ Eternals,” “Train to Busan”) is set in the PUBG Universe and shows Lee playing an undignified inmate trying to escape from an opposition prison. The short film is directly linked to the lore story of the new TAEGO map. “Ground Zero” is the latest example of KRAFTON’s promise to expand the PUBG Universe and the lore story through content focused on high-quality narrative, alongside “Unknown Mysteries: Battlegrounds Nativity Story,” starring Jonathan Frakes (“Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction”).

Welcome to TAEGO – As mentioned in last month’s PUBG 2021 Development Plan, TAEGO (formerly Codename: Tiger) allows players to compete in a wide and varied landscape in 1980s South Korea, from large, open reeds to nearby areas of Hosan prison. Taego, the first new 8×8 map to be released in a few years, has unique features specific to this map, including Comeback BR (second chance mechanics) and Self AED (self-resuscitation element).
Introducing “Survivor Pass: TAEGO”: The theme of this Survivor Pass is mostly inspired by the new map TAEGO.. Players can earn a variety of rewards as they progress through 50 levels on PC from July 7 and console from July 15. That’s not all – players past level 50 can receive bonus rewards, including medals, emblems, and G-Coin.
Stylish Rides with Hyundai Pony Coupe – KRAFTON partnered with Hyundai to move its first concept car, the Pony Coupe, to PUBG. Specifically for the TAEGO map, the Pony Coupe has a four-wheel drive design that provides enriched control for terrain with various floors in TAEGO. The Pony Coupe was designed by legendary automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and premiered in 1974.
