With its changed name PUBG: Battlegrounds or PUBG with the common name used by the players, the countdown to the new map Deston has begun. PUBG New map Deston is coming on July 13
When PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 18.2 launches on PC servers on July 13 and console servers on July 21, players will now be able to log in to Deston, the ninth map of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. Players will see a plethora of new features coming with Update 18.2, including Boosters, Emergency Parachutes, gas stations, airboats, and more, along with Deston.

New Map: Deston
The wait for the latest 8×8 map from PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is finally over, and the burned-down world of Deston set in the near future is now ready for players to explore. Dston offers players the opportunity to visit and switch between various regions: a flooded downtown, home to one of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS’ tallest skyscrapers ever; a muddy swamp, pristine beaches, enchanting mountains and uncharted islands. Dston will be available as a featured map and will be playable in Solo, Duo, and Team TPP and FPP modes.
- New Vehicle: Airboats – Do you need a vehicle both in the air and on the water? Thanks to the airboat, players will not have to deal with changing vehicles on different terrain types. Airboats travel very fast in bodies of water, move at a maximum speed of 76 km/h on land, can carry up to five people and can only be used in Deston.
- Points of Attention: The new map offers new POIs for players to explore! A few salient points in Deston are as follows;
- Ripton – A partially flooded city where players will have to traverse shallow waters and use tall skyscrapers to travel smoothly from air to location.
- Swamp – An area of shallow water where you can interact with rival players.
- Concert venue – Offers an open-air festival area where you can showcase your most agile figures before going into battle to earn Soup Money, and a few more eye-catching areas for players to visit.
- New Weapon: O12 – Deston introduces a new weapon that players can only use here.
The O12 is a .12-caliber gun with a high accuracy and range compared to all guns, which can be more efficient in medium and short-range combat.
Deston Auxiliary Items
To keep the gameplay engaging, Deston introduces new special auxiliary items for moving quickly in Deston, including a booster for vertical movement, a parachute that is the default item for all players when they enter the map, and the Cell Towers that allow them to be used together. These items will improve their exclusive in-game interactions and provide players with new basic game streaming without interfering with their game focus. Each map helper item will be available in players’ inventory upon entering Deston, and players will be able to use them as many times as they wish. These items will not affect the inventory weight and will not occupy their own inventory slots.
New features
- Gas Stations – Deston introduces gas stations that will allow players to fill up their vehicles while traveling in Deston. But players must be wary that these gas stations can create a devastating explosion when hit.
- Security Keys and Doors – Deston’s security team seems to have left in a hurry, leaving security keys on the map for players to find. Once these security keys are found, they can unlock security doors to get high-level loot. Security keys will accumulate in inventory and will be spent after they are used at security gates.
