PUBG producer Krafton, along with Garena, the maker of the game Free Fire, will sue YouTube, Apple and Google for “copyright infringement.” PUBG, one of the most popular online shooter gamesof recent years, is also known as the game that popularizes the online battle royale genre. Krafton, the game’s maker, accuses Free Fire,which is from Garena, of copying and using a wide range of things, including PUBG’s game design and in-game items.
PUBG maker accuses Krafton Free Fire of copyright infringement
Krafon’s case file includes the following charges related to Free Fire:
“Free Fire and Free Fire Max have clearly copied battlegrounds-specific features into their own games, one at a time and in bulk. These copied features include pubg’s exclusive “air drop” landing screen, game design and gameplay, weapons and combinations to choose from, armor, items, region designs and color selections.”
Apple and Google are also included in the lawsuit because the game was distributed through the two firms and the brokerage firms generated millions of dollars in revenue. YouTube is being sued because, as you can imagine, free fire gameplay videos uploaded to the platform.
