PUBG’s new map Deston is coming on July 13
To ensure that its look, feel, and mechanics are appropriate for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, this 8×8 map was designed with Haven’s various elements and feedback in mind. Deston is the largest, longest and densest map featured in the game. Over the course of a match, players will be in a dense urban setting, from tall and vertical buildings in Deston to rolling hills, plains and newly designed swamps.
The map aims to present that subtle point between a fun gameplay and immersing players in a real combat environment. Dston will encourage players to learn every environment of the map, forcing them to consider different equipment, vehicles, and trenches to earn chicken dinner. More details about Deston’s new areas can be found below.
- Swamp – The first swampy area of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS was designed in the northern part of the map. This area is a unique region full of new experiences for players. The dense and lush mangrove forest leads to the occurrence of various conflicts in the immediate vicinity.
- Central Plains – Central plains offer the traditional experience that players recognize and love. Similar to Erangel and Taego, this area strikes a balance between trenches, landscapes, and points of interest (POI) for players to explore. Located within the central plains, Lodge POI is the largest building ever built in the game. Players can quickly enter this building and observe how the hunting goers are hunting.
- Concert Zone – Players will come across a huge chicken balloon floating in the air, while party-goers will find a ball in the concert area. The Paintball Arena will also provide opportunities for short, medium and long distance collisions. Players will want to become familiar with this area due to the possibility of coming to the Team Death Game mode in the future.
- Western Highlands – Shooters will test players’ sniper and sniper rifle skills to enjoy the possibilities of the mountainous region located in the west. With minimal plants and a wide level of visibility, players without a doubt can find themselves right in the middle of the crosshairs. The winding hills and rocky atmosphere in the deserted coastal island region will allow for more hiding and winding battles.
