Rainbow Six Siege’s new operation, Crystal Guard, was officially detailed in a live broadcast last night. Plenty of changes will be waiting for us in the new update of the game. But before we look at these changes, let’s take a closer look at our new operator, Osa.
Osa will add a new advantage to the strike team. Equipped with medium speed and armor, what makes our character special is mira’s very reminiscent shield. Osa can provide a sheltered view of himself and his team by placing this shield on windows or door sills. Players will even be able to protect Osa from incoming attacks by simply holding the shield in their hands. This has already revived many plans in my mind…
Osa’s shield can be installed at any point. So you can think of this shield as a deployable shield for the attack team. The only difference between these two is that Osa’s shield is transparent.
Of course, this transparent structure gives Osa and his team great advantages. Just like Mira, Osa’s shield has a tube that breaks the bulletproof glass the moment you detonate it. This paves the way for Osa to easily hunt down his opponent in one-on-one situations.
Another change will be Twitch, Fuze and IQ edits. In the new season, these three of us are getting a little stronger than before. Twitch;in drones, for example, can now jump. The team also replaced the taser of the drones with lasers, underlining that the drone will have unlimited range. So you’ll be able to detonate rival equipment from far away.
Fuze;un Cluster Charge equipment can now pass through reinforced walls. But during this transition, equipment that leaves an effect, such as Thermite’s explosives, makes itself vulnerable to detonation. IQ’s special equipment will now be able to ping teammates all the equipment it notices.
Now to map editing… Along with Operation Crystal Guard, there will be changes to popular maps such as Coastline, Bank and Clubhouse. As you can see in the video above, we will also see an increase in the visibility of operators in the new season.
