Detention and Devotion’s developer Red Candle shared a new gameplay video from Nine Sols, a 2D action platformer inspired by Sekiro.

The game’s hand-drawn graphics will be accompanied by manga-inspired inter-scenes. Red Candle says they draw each frame by hand in traditional style and work very hard to create fluid animations that are pleasing to the eye.

In the game, we will direct the character yi and embark on a revenge adventure against 9 Left, the powerful guardians of the abandoned realm of the game. On the one hand, we learn new things about the fate of mankind, and on the other hand, we uncover the mysteries of an ancient alien race.

In Nine Sols, we will be able to use our sword to fend off enemy attacks, just like Sekiro, and we will be able to launch explosive attacks by charging Chi. We’re going to have a huge broadcast to take down enemies from afar.

Red Candle is trying to get the game ready for the second quarter of 2023.
