As we get to the final days of the countdown to Resident Evil Village, the excitement grows. Thanks to Capcom, in order to fuel this excitement, he plays the demo of the game in a very limited time and takes care to keep the taste in our palate:) Even that short demo, which was shared in limited time, contains little references, surprise eggs.
As of yesterday, we had the chance to explore the famous Dimitrescu Castle in the half-hour PS5 demo. One of the characters we encountered in the demo was our merchant friend Duke. There were some points that might have caught your attention when shopping for him, and these included references directly to the trader in Resident Evil 4. Of course, these details did not go unnoticed by careful gamers.
In a dialogue seen in a screenshot posted on Reddit by a user with the nickname gtageek2k and also mentioned in the video above, Duke said, “What’re it?… Haha, just something an old friend of mine used to count,” he says. As the players may remember, the merchant in Resident Evil 4 was asking, “What’s this?” Duke says he’s an old friend of the merchant, so how do they know each other?
But that’s not the only reference; The video, posted to Where’s Barry YouTube channel, shares other details. For example, our trader at RE 4 calls out “Stranger”, while Duke says, “No one’s a stranger to the Emporium”; Besides, his laughter is like that.

Resident Evil Village will debut on May 7. Apparently, it’s not like we’re going to be able it comes to mind with every detail. Let’s see how it responds to gamers, we are looking forward to it, we are keeping a close eye on it.
