Electronic Arts has announced that the release of its new PGA Tour game has been postponed and a new release date has not yet been set. EA stopped using its PGA Tour license in 2015, and six years later, it was announced that the series would have a new game this year.
The release date for the new PGA Tour game was spring 2022, but they explained neither the reason for the postponement nor how much of a postponement it was. At least they didn’t say it was a difficult decision, which is an improvement:
“We are excited to present championship golf to you and will share more information about our exit plans in the coming months,” says EA. If even the announcement is to take a few months, it seems a little difficult for the new game to come out in 2022.
The new PGA Tour game is being developed by EA;in NBA Live and the Tiburon studio, which I also developed Madden; and will use the Frostbite engine.
