Resident Evil will be adapted for the next generation of consoles. Remake versions of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 will be adapted to Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, Capcom announced yesterday. The refurbished versions are expected to be available later this year. Capcom, which had a huge success with Resident Evil 8, has no intention of spending 2022 empty-time.
Resident Evil next generation console versions to be released later this year
Capcom also announced ray tracing support for PC versions of games it will adapt to the next generation of consoles. 3D audio support and higher FPS values will also be included in the aforementioned update. Although it is not clear how effective ray tracing support will be, the lighting of the shared images looks good.
Resident Evil 2 Remake made a big splash the year it was released (2019) and was named one of the best productions of the year. So much so that RE 2 Remake is still exemplary when it comes to “remake” games. The remake of Resident Evil 3 was not well received.
Resident Evil 7, on the other hand, radically changed the structure of the series and switched to the FPS camera, just as Resident Evil 4 did. The change also sparked controversy, but judging by the success of Resident Evil Village, capcom seems to have made the right decision again.
