Yesterday Resident Evil Villagewas released after a long wait for players during this gameless period, and the signs are that it is very popular. Launch metrics show that the game has become one of the biggest debuting games in the series, both in the number of Steam instant players and in the number of views on Twitch. Of course, lady dimitrescu’s popularity before the game even came out and the intriguing structure of the game based on Eastern European myths have a big contribution.
Resident Evil Village sounded good on Steam and Twitch
Resident Evil Village topped the charts with 101,726 simultaneous players on day one, as SteamDB shows, making it the biggest PC launch for any game in the series. RE 7 remained at 20,449, while Resident Evil 2 Remake reached 74,227 and RE 3 Remake reached 60,293 simultaneous players. That means the last game was at the top of the table, with the others making a difference. Of course, it is important to remember that this data comes from the Steam platform.
One success is on the Twitch side. Village has now reached more than 600,000 viewers, and no major broadcaster is responsible for that number. In other words, relatively less watched broadcasters on the platform also managed to bring viewers to their channels by playing Resident Evil Village. It shows that people are as interested in the game itself as they are about the person who’s playing the game. Also on Twitch, the previous games in the series –as SullyGnome shows– were 224,481 for RE7, 314,244 for RE2 Remake and 318,002 for RE3 Remake. This undoubtedly suggests that Village is one of the best debuting Resident Evil games on Twitch as well as Steam.
Of course, behind this is the fact that the game has appeared on all platforms more than once with demo versions. Thanks to the demos, which are quite good and promising for the new game, players had the chance to try it out and jump into the game when it came out. Players who didn’t get this chance ended up watching the game from streamers on Twitch. Village continued game 7 of the series and was released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia and PC. And what do you guys think of the game?
