Respawn Entertainment community coordinator Jason Garza’s answer to a question about the Titanfall series was that Respawn was giving up Titanfall. “There’s nothing there,” Garza said. “It’s a game with a lot of mech in it. It’s an old game, all the way back to the Xbox One days. Don’t get your hopes up. I’ve said that before, we’re not working on anything. There’s nothing there. There are a lot of other games we’re working on.”
As the press and social media began reporting on this comment, Respawn posted a message on his official Twitter account, saying, “Contrary to what some have reported, Titanfall is at the heart of our DNA. Who knows what the future holds…” Said.
I mean, after all, your game, Respawn, you don’t know what the future holds, and who will?
Boss Vince Zampella said last year that Respawn was not working on a new Titanfall, but added that he hoped to see the series return one day.
Looks like Respawn doesn’t want us to think they’re giving up Titanfall. However, it is also true that titanfall’s release date coincides with games such as Battlefield, Destiny, Call of Duty, and that the game receives less attention than it deserves.
