Rumors that Respawn Entertainment would appear in a sequel following the hugely successful Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order were already strong, but it was a big surprise to learn that the studio was working on three new Star Wars games.
Electronic Arts announced that it is expanding its partnership with Lucasfilm Games and that Respawn, which is also the developer of Apex Legends, will come up with three new Star Wars projects.
The first of these projects is, as predicted, a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
The second project is a Star Wars FPS game. The project is led by Peter Hirschmann, one of the creators of Medal of Honor, who worked on the original Battlefront games and The Force Unleashed. Hirschmann most recently directed the 2020 VR game Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.
The third project, frankly, was the one that excited me the most. Firaxis Games is developing a strategy game in collaboration with Bit Reactor, founded by experienced names. With the support of Bit Reactor, Respawn, the main developer of the game, I wonder if this game will be turn-based or real-time.
